11 Years With My Blog Theme; All Good Things Come To An End…

If you’re a regular visitor to this blog, you’ll notice that something’s changed. Actually, a lot of something has changed, and it all starts with a new theme.

First, let’s talk about the “why”. I loved my other theme, but in reality it was the 3rd theme on this site. However, that last theme was my favorite; I’ve had it since the middle of 2009. I used it for every blog I’ve owned since then, and the best part of it was I knew how to alter the code to get it to look however I wanted it to look. I could change colors, fonts, links… pretty much everything. In my eyes it was perfect.

What’s Your Story And How Can You Tell It?

Some years ago I wrote an article titled The Art Of Storytelling, where I talked about some of the stories I’ve written on this blog as it related to the topic of writing. I greatly believe that for almost every article you come up with unless it’s a tutorial, being able to add stories to it not only makes it more compelling and easy to understand, but it’s keep your audience engaged until the very end.

However, this article isn’t about writing; it’s about you, your person, your life, and what you’re ready to tell the world so that you can get what you want from it and from others. That sounds a big daunting and a little bit narcissistic, doesn’t it? It’s not; let’s talk about it.

One Major Content Marketing Tip For Entrepreneurs

It’s been more than 3 years since I last talked about the concept of branding and why it’s important for all of us. Not just those of us who are trying to sell our products and services, but any of us who produce any type of content that we end up putting out to the masses.

Social Media Won’t Solve All Your Problems

The world of sales and networking is changing, and a major part of it is happening via social media. I could say ‘internet’, but truth be told, the internet on its own really didn’t change much except to allow people the opportunity to have a presence online.

Blogging is part of social media, and it was one of the first mediums where creators learned that they could connect with a lot of people and make money at the same time. There are quite a few bloggers who became millionaires before the rest of us got into it.

Do You Have A Writing Style?

I’ve done a lot of writing over the course of my life. If we don’t count letters, I started writing screen plays in my preteens (Star Trek related stuff, with the names changed of course), then graduated to poetry in my teens. In college I wrote a journal for 3 1/2 years, and in my junior year I started composing music and writing lyrics.

From there I started trying to write stories… novels were in my mind. I wrote a few of them… but never finished one. Then I got into leadership positions in health care and started writing procedure training manuals, along with articles for medical billing organizations. Moved on to writing newsletters for my business and other magazines, joined a writing group at the library where we wrote short stories and talked about our novels, before I finally got into blogging.
