I started out very slowly and wasn’t sure how I was going to use Twitter; heck, I didn’t even want to sign up. But it’s turned out to be one of the smarter things I’ve done. And, after tweeting my blog, I started getting more visitors. It helps, and, truthfully, the more people following me the better; long as I don’t have to do anything more than what I already do to get them.

There are a lot of funny and smart people on Twitter, and it’s the instant access to engage people that probably gets us both. And, after the help someone gave me for my computer two days ago, I’ve also realized that someone will always have an answer for you if you need it.

i’m new to twitter and i use it to chat mostly. sometimes to say what i’m doing. to ask a question or throw up a V8 moment. I don’t want everyone following me and I don’t want to follow everybody. I hardly ever tweet my blog posts..it’s mroe of a shout out and a way to stay connected w/ a lot of people without cluttering up my inbox full of emails. run on sentence.

I think you make some good points about whom to follow and why and how people use twitter.

I like how you explain the different ways people use twitter. I guess I fall into the camp of using it to market my blog, but I also like to twitter my random thoughts so I come across as a person, not a computer feed. (I also find twitter very fun in a way I can’t really explain.)

Actually, that’s an arbitrary limit against people who are just adding people without thought. I’ve seen quite a few people with literally thousands of people following them, and others following thousands. But this guy who calls himself the Lazy Slacker learned this week that adding 2,000 in one week gets you stopped for awhile.

Many people just subscribe willy-nilly, whereas others will add anyone who adds them first. I don’t expect to ever be one of those people following thousands of others, but if thousands of people follow me, not only will I feel honored, but it’ll give me the opportunity to look through and decide who might be interesting enough to also follow.

So far I have TWO tweets and those two are merely “practice” hello type tweets from Dec ‘07 when I opened the account! LOL
