Hi Daniel. No, I couldn’t use the automatic plugin updater, because it wouldn’t work. Trust me, I tried with each one of my blogs before going the manual route.

Or you could just use the automatic plugin updater. Then just click the auto update button and you’re set.

Thanks Ricky. I couldn’t believe how hard it was the first time to upgrade to 2.7.1, and now I know that it can throw off some themes that are less robust than others, which also isn’t good. I hope the next update is less cumbersome.

WordPress make this one so difficult? They don’t think they did, but the numbers seem to disagree with them. For the number of fixes that are supposedly contained in the update, it seems to be causing just as many problems for some people who actually got it to upgrade by some fashion.

Bloody fantastic site i have added it to my favourites.

It didn’t work for me, and it seems it didn’t work for a lot of people. WP 2.7.1 pretty much disabled the upgrade plugin, and I’ve been able to upgrade every other plugin since I’ve disabled it. So, it seems it really isn’t needed anymore.

QUESTION – It appears that most having the issues are upgrading from 2.7 to 2.7.1, correct?

Since I’m currently on 2.6.5, I wonder if I’ll have any issues banging it up to 2.7.1

Maybe they fixed the auto upgrade? I clicked it and viola! I’m at 2.7.1 no glitches.
