Rodney, most of the time it runs great, but every once in awhile it does get sluggish, and I never equated it with the broken link checker before. I’ll have to keep an eye on that, but that’s probably what’s going on from time to time.

Is everything still running smoothly Mitch? I noticed in one of your latest posts that you use the Broken Link Checker plugin – well so do I, and boy does it drag when it’s actively checking links. It does its work in short bursts while the admin console is open, which ironically is when you want your site running nice and fast. It doesn’t appear to affect the external view of the site fortunately.

Anyhow, it’s probably not that in your case, but just thought I’d mention it.

Yes, keep an eye on it, Sire. It’s odd, though, because I noticed it’s got an upgrade, but that website is still gone, so I wonder where the update is residing.

I’ve got that plugin Mitch and so far the blog seems to be working fine, but thanks to you if something does go screwy I will know where to look.

Hey, sound advice there Mitch. I experienced something similar so I did the whole switch on/off plugins and managed to get rid of a couple that were proving a problem!

First, I hope my tip helps your friend, Steve. Second, I’m still ahead, about $300 at this point, but I haven’t been back since Sunday. I’m waiting until Friday night at the earliest; one doesn’t want to start getting caught up in the nightly gambling routine, if you know what I mean.

hi Mitch,
I read your post this morning, and just had a fellow blogger ask me if their blog seemed to be loading slow, so I was able to refer them here (if this is their problem). Thanks for the post.
I don’t have many plugins yet on my blog, but I’m going to remember this for when I do.
By the way, I was one of the troublemakers using IE6, but I’ve installed Firefox and I’m getting used to it (and moving all my bookmarks).
And by the way, what’s the latest on poker? Are you UP or DOWN?
