I did a Twitter mosaic a while back.. it’s a fun way to give your Twitter followers a showcase on your site.

Andrew, if the only reason you joined Twitter was to be able to post when you’ve written a new blog post, that would possibly help to spread the word about your blog and get you some kind of activity. Overall, it works best with some kind of give and take, and you’re right, it is easy to get lost in it at times. But I’ve found that since I started using TweetDeck, which I have a post about here, thus allowing me to select specifically who I want to make sure I follow, it’s reduced the time I’m on, which lets me get to other stuff. In other words, if you use Twitter only as a tool, there are benefits to be had.

Mitch,

The potential of Twitter to consume a large amount of one’s time has been the predominate reason why I have held off in registering so far.

Personally, I have devoted almost all of my spare time toward the development of blog posts and commenting on other blogs, and otherwise attempting to maintain a somewhat healthy lifestyle in the offline world.

I will probably register with Twitter at some stage, although spending a great deal of time on it will not be a particularly high priority for me personally.
