Let’s get this out of the way; if social media is suppressing freedom of speech, it’s because they’re allowed to do it. As much as the orange man rages that his words are being blocked, the truth is that we’re all given free access to these social media sites. Almost no one is paying anything to use them, so if it’s actually happening, it’s their right. You don’t like it… leave!
It’s been more than 3 years since I last talked about the concept of branding and why it’s important for all of us. Not just those of us who are trying to sell our products and services, but any of us who produce any type of content that we end up putting out to the masses.
In March of 2015 I wrote an article titled Promoting Yourself In Social Media; My Personal Study. In that post I talked about how I was doing a lot of things to try to get myself noticed more. That’s because I know I need more traffic coming to my blogs and website, and I wanted more people to recognize me as someone who might know something about blogging, social media, leadership, etc.
I mentioned how things had been progressing for me, and a lot of it had to do with Twitter. At that time I mentioned that my traffic had gone up 15%. As you see above, the word for 2020 for me is socialization. It’s an intriguing word because most of the internet marketing gurus like to use the word “engagement”. Unfortunately, truth be told, most of those using the word aren’t actually doing it. I’m sure they think they are, but they’re not. Why? Continue reading The Word For 2020 Is… Socialization→
If you’re a Twitter user and not a part of what’s known as “Follow Friday” or “#FF“, I’ll bet you’re tired of seeing those types of messages. You’re lucky if you see either of those two phrases above because those are easily blocked; I’ll come back to that in a minute or two.
If you reply “all” she’s eating this!
If you don’t see either of those particular missives but you’re still included in a group notification with lots of other Twitter folks you probably don’t know, you’ve found yourself in the Twitter version of “reply all” that almost everyone cringes at as a consequence of a group email. Continue reading The “Reply All” Catastrophe Of Twitter→
