Hey Mitch,
I read this post in my fancy pants email feeder now that I’m subscribed and I’ve got to say, it sounded depressing man. I feel your pain though as it’s hard to understand why some contests work for people and others don’t (mine are in the others with you so far though).
Really though, it’s just something we gotta roll with. Blogging is like firing a shotgun. Some of the pieces of shell aren’t going to hit home but you have enough pieces shot that some of them make impact. It’s just a matter of trying everything and seeing what works.

Lol so it’s a terrible example but I hope you get what I’m saying. Just gotta keep on trying. Somethings work, some fall to the floor.
