SalesMix

If you run a business and have a website, you want to know whether you’re listed in the top search engines as far as your business is concerned. You also want to make sure that you’re listed in local searches higher than just being in a search engine for kicks and giggles.

SalesMix will let you put in your business name, zip code and state, and it will tell you if your business is listed with the major search engines. When I first ran it for one of my businesses it listed me as having started the process but never completing it. I didn’t even remember that I’d started, but when I went to it, seems I thought about it almost 3 years ago and never finished filling in the information; what was I thinking?

After you see if you’ve signed up on any of the sites, you click on “listing snapshot”, and you’ll see where you can click on links and get your business on all those sites. Yes, you have to do the work for yourself; don’t be lazy. :-)

Well, I should turn that on myself. One of my businesses is listed on Google, but that’s it. The other business isn’t listed anywhere; major faux pas on my part. Yeah, I’ll get around to it; I have no real excuses.

But it’s a good tool for you to explore if you have a stand alone business and want to make sure you’re getting all the benefits you can by listing it. And, because he’s a friend of mine, he’s given me the link of instructions you can look at if you’re still unsure of how to proceed. Pays to know people, right?

Sure it is, Sire. I completed the one that I’d started; just didn’t have the time to go back and do them all. But that’s what testing is all about; I’ll get to it eventually. :-)
