Hi Charles,

I love the Messiah, but no one single piece that stands out for me, not even Hallelujah. As a whole entity, I love going to see it performed.

I also like Hall of the Mountain King, although it turns out it actually begins with “in the”, which makes it a much different song than the one I heard first when I was trying to remember which song this was. There’s a heavy metal song almost of the same name; ouch! lol

I also almost included Brahm’s Hungarian Dances on my list, but it just barely missed out.

Some of your favorites also made my list. I also like Messiah and Hall of the Mountain King, plus quite a few others.

Hi Mike,

At least I do have the one song on my list. I have to admit that I’m not the biggest Puccini fan, but every once in awhile a song comes that you just have to stand up and cheer for.

Great list! My favorite is Turandot, even though it’s not as high on your list. There were a few I hadn’t heard so I’ll have to check them out but for now Turandot is my all-time fave -Mike

I like Berlioz, Bob, but he just didn’t have anything that could crack my top 19. I find Prokofiev someone lots of people forget, but he wrote a lot of dynamic music.

I always was a fan of Berlioz, even before I became a fan of classical music. I’ll have to check out more prokofiev, I kind of forgot about him after labeling him “the guy who made Peter and the Wolf”.
