Man, I must be the worst husband in the world. Here I am, talking about all this stuff I do and have, and I just realized that I haven’t mentioned my wife’s website in almost 18 months. Well, let me take care of that right now.
Her site is called Li’l Specs, and she makes customized clay pins. The reason you see them with eyeglasses is because they’re actually pins you can wear and, if you have reading glasses, you can hang your glasses on them so you won’t misplace them.
She’s got a great inventory of pins, and her most popular seems to be dogs. Actually, if you just wanted either dog pins or fish pins you could just request one and she could get you something fairly quickly. Or if you wanted something special, say a whale, she can do that as well. If you wanted your specific pet and wanted to send a picture she can do that, but it’s much easier if you just said “I want to doberman” or “I want a dog” or “I want a fish”.
Something else she makes are what’s known as pillow blankets. If you follow that link, you’ll see four pictures of the one she made for me. It’s hard to show them properly, but mine is about 6′ in length and 3′ wide. She makes them in 3 sizes, which includes the baby sets she makes. I haven’t talked about the blankets in the other posts, as she wasn’t sure way back when that she wanted to add that to what she does, but now she has.
Li’l Specs; think of it, check it out, and trust me, it’s something no one else you know will be wearing until they see yours. And yes, the pins are mainly for women, but she made American flags one year and there were some men who bought them, so she’s pretty flexible. The blankets; I’ll just say that I use mine every single night, and I’ve even taken it on the road with me. It might be too late to get it there by Christmas, but they’d make great New Years gifts as well.
There; I’ve done my duty for the month. π
And there you go, Allan. I’m like you, I’ve been a full time glasses wearer since I was 8, but my wife needs them for reading, and thus her idea. She seems to sell them to people where she works because they see her wearing them.
That is a very good idea! They look good too. I wouldn’t say you are a bad husband, but now you see the error of your way, you could really promote this. It’s a great idea and will probably take off!
Thanks Tom. Actually I’ve promoted it twice before, but it has been awhile.
Hi Mitch
I love the idea. I have to wear my specs to be able to see at all times, so couldn’t use that pin but will go check out what else she has. I love supporting small biz π
Patricia Perth Australia
Thanks Pat. The woman is talented beyond belief, which works well for me since I only have one talent myself. π
I’m wearing lens now, but i know the feeling to not find your glasses. I didn’t know that there was such a thing, some freinds will be very happy π
p.s. you are a good husband.
Thanks Mia; I’m certainly trying to be.
I’m headed over there right now!
Maybe you’ll see some interesting things, Carolee. We’ve never set it up as a proper online store, and maybe that’s something we need to do one of these days.
Hey Mitch, I just checked out Liβl Specs and I must say you have a pretty wife. I had two reading glasses at one time and I misplaced one of them because I took them off and couldn’t recall where I left them.
It’s been a whole year and I still haven’t found those glasses. I think I might invest in one of these pins before I misplace the one pair of glasses I have left.
I will probably request a fish pin since I’m an avid fisher. These eye glass pins might be my only gift this Christmas season.
Good stuff John, and man, losing my glasses would be a major crisis, yet it’s almost happened a couple of times overnight. For others, though, I know it can be irritating.
That’s soooo cute!!
My glasses normally stay visible in this time/space dimension, but my keys…they ALWAYS take on a cloak of invisibility at the most inopportune times. π
Major wootness to your wife!
I’ll pass that on to her, Barb; she’s the talented one in the house.
Cool idea. And nah – not a bad husband – a bad husband realizes he’s been remiss with re: to something like this and goes, “What the hey – so what, no biggie,” and STILL does nothing, teehee.
You’ve made good and proper amends. Welcome to the good guys. π
Thanks Marv; a guy’s way of thinking! lol Of course, one day someone might have to tell her that if she ever decides to start reading this blog.
wow! you have a very gifted and talented wifey! she is making a difference and I do hope she continues to discover new things for us π happy for you and hopefully you continue to share with us the new things she’s gonna come up in the future. Congratz and Kudos to both of you!
She does okay, Nash, and I thank you for your words about her.
