numbers by any means doesn’t necessarily mean that your a popular guy or not it just means that the person getting a large following is getting all kinds of people following them no matter what it is he or she is interested in.

Actually Brandon, I find it easy to start conversations, but realize that not every person is going to want to talk that much. But I’ve met some pretty interesting people by starting a conversation, and that’s always nice.

First, welcome Scott. Second, I hope some folks left here and went to read your original article.

Third, let me ask you this. I know you wanted to increase numbers so that it increased the opportunities for people to retweet your stuff, as well as more people reading it in general. Is it increasing the number of overall visitors to your blog or website in any significant numbers? Have you gotten any business out of it, or at least the opportunity to possibly do business with someone?

Right now, I can say that I’ve gotten more blog visitors, but that’s about it. I haven’t had anyone who’s seen me on Twitter and determined that they needed to work with me; maybe I’m not profound enough, but still,… Of course, what I’m looking to do with my business and what you do in yours are totally different, and Twitter works better with yours. So, that could mean something.

The answers are “yes” and “yes”. Approaching the 20K mark now, I can tell you that out of all that growth, I DO get more retweets, I DO get more replies back when I post something. Is it proportional to the number of followers, i.e., am I getting 5x more at 20K than I was at a “natural” 4K? No. It’s about 2.5x. Still… why wouldn’t I want that? Except for the approximately one hour a week I’m spending to drive that growth, there’s zero cost to having followers on an ongoing basis.

So far…totally happy with the results.

Mitch very funny i’m sure many would agree. But you know what I noticed Twitter’s become so popular a basketball player was banned from using it in the locker room imagine that, a rich guy using Twitter now that’s pure insanity who would figure.
