Not only do they have to have an operating system, but what about all the software that goes with it? I can't see any business taking it on, and that is a large part of the market. And I'm with you, I don't want to see any one company dominating everything either. Microsoft needed some competition, which is a good thing, but I don't want them losing the lead for market share. Maybe coming down a few pegs with some real competition will make them concentrate more on stability than how pretty something is, which I wouldn't be depressed about one bit.
