Easter Smiles

Posted by on Apr 24, 2011

I debated about whether or not to pop something up for Easter or not. I’m not religious, and, dare I say, I’d be considered a heathen in some circles. Let’s suffice it to say I’m a nonbeliever and move on.

That doesn’t mean I look down on anyone who’s celebrating today as a holiday; not in the least. It does say that I take secular look at the day instead, To me, it’s a day for kids and family and smiles; I don’t see anything wrong with that sort of thing.

Unfortunately I don’t have any kids, but I did talk to my mother and she’s as content as mothers can be for the day. And I’ve done some of those things over this holiday weekend that I enjoy. I watched the Ten Commandments, watched some Sound of Music and some Wizard of Oz (how’d those become holiday things).

But the one thing I totally missed this year was the Peanuts take on Easter. I don’t know if it was on or not. Doesn’t matter; thank goodness for YouTube. I wish those of you who believe a wonderful holiday. For those who don’t, or for those who just want a smile or two, I offer this:

Althea Garner:

There’s a **BIG** difference between being ‘religious’ and being ‘spiritual’.

Hi Mitch,

I Love Peanuts .. thanks for the chuckle .. although as I’m watching that second one, and laughing along, I couldn’t help thinking to myself “what, am I 10 years old or something?” 🙂

As for Easter, to me it’s pretty much all about eggs and chocolate .. so I suppose that makes me a fellow “heathen”. Glad to hear you had a good day.

Todd, I laughed like a little kid myself. You know, Snoopy is truly ageless, and there’s going to be a blog post kind of about that sort of thing coming soon.

Snoopy’s giggle gave me quite the chuckle. I used to love all the Peanuts holiday specials. I’m considered a heathen in quite a few circles, too, including in my own very Catholic family, but that’s ok. Most of the “heathens” I’ve met in my life are extremely caring and compassionate and helpful to others.

That’s the way I often see things, Jessica. I think the world is big enough for all of us to celebrate whatever for our own reasons, and mine usually involve cartoons or cake. If I can get both, life is wonderful.

Happy Easter, Mitch! I am not much into holidays, but you are right kids really enjoy it. Unfortunately, the place where I am not, the celebration was not that good like in my home country. Nice videos bring the smile to my face.

I’m glad Carl because that was definitely my intention. And of course no one hates Snoopy. 🙂

Hi Mitch,

Snoopy is an old cartoon character, but we still remember him because that cartoon character is the one that clicked in the 80’s. Thanks for sharing this one it remind me of my childhood when I read this.

Glad you enjoyed it Francis. Course, I go back way further for Snoopy, but I know I will cherish those memories for my entire life.
