Hi Mitch,
Just to clarify, I’m not talking about spammers sending out emails to other people pretending to be you, but spammers sending you email.
I had to shut down one email address because even with a spam filter, it was getting way to much spam to wade through. A pox on all spammers!

I think a contact page should be on a blog; I’m not so sure it’s needed on a website. Steve, what’s better; contact page or contact information on every page? Why make it harder for your potential customers to find you? I’m just asking.

I strongly admit that ‘contact’ page should be there for any website including the information such as phone number, email and address.

LOL! Steve, they’ve already gotten my email address, but that’s okay because I also remind people that any email I send out has a signature line of some kind, something that spam emails never have. It doesn’t happen all that often, thank goodness.

And, when have you ever seen me do things just because people expect them?

Hey Mitch,
On my business site I have a contact page because it’s what a lot of people expect. But I also have a phone number and email address at the bottom of the home page. I’m not sure about putting it on every page, but I get your point.
One thing to be careful of… I think it is important to “obfuscate” (encode) your email address so the spam bots can’t harvest it. I learned the hard way what happens when they do…

Hi Ajith. I’m talking about business pages, not a place like a forum where everyone has access to everything. I didn’t leave links to either of my business sites because that’s not what this story was about, but truthfully, I obviously think contact pages are just throwaway pages. For real business, you want to always make it easy for your customers to reach you.

Mitch,
I personally believe in the contact page. It’s better than people leaving their email addresses and phone numbers openly on their profiles/pages. There may be a lot of things that your readers want to discuss/consult with in private (and not in comments area) and hence contact page is essential in my opinion.

Having a contact page sounds like a good idea but I am not able to implement this yet considering my blog still new and just indexed to Google yesterday so making contact page will be listed for future optimization and thanks anyway for the post.
