Do Something Out Of The Ordinary

I always say that I try to write my blog about topics that maybe others have covered, but in a way such that it doesn’t look like I’m writing the same thing as everyone else. I believe that if I can continue doing that sort of thing that, one day, the masses are going to discover me and think that they just have to tell everyone else about me, and then I’ll achieve all the things I want in life.

Well, that may or may not happen, but the reality is that doing something out of the ordinary will help you to stand apart from everyone else. It works towards making you memorable, and unless it’s a picture where you’ve fallen asleep in the street with your clothes off and a dog urinating on your head, being memorable isn’t such a bad thing.

It’s with that in mind that I offer the video below, along with a relatively short post on a Saturday, for your enjoyment. This couple not only created a memory that everyone at their wedding will remember forever, but it went viral and has given joy to millions of others on the internet. And to make sure I always know how to find it, I’m including it on my blog today:

I just loved this video and it went well with your article. In this world we live in we need to do things out of the ordinary. We need to stand out and not be afraid of what people will say. Do things that are memorable and out of the ordinary. This couple will have a very good memory of the this special day. I know the guest have something to talk about. This will be a day they will not forget.

Thanks for your comment, Tally. It’s a lot of fun to watch, and it is memorable. I try every day to find something to put online that someone else might find memorable. One of these days, I just might get there.

Hi Mitch… that is an awesome video and good post. One of our goals is to eventually make our blog and ourselves stand out like that, but now are just working at building a bunch of quality content. Then we plan to to do some crazy stuff to stand out from the crowd. Hopefully it will work. I really like your site by the way! Keep up the good work.

Actually, I still don’t know which one was defective, so I’m going to leave them both there, then we’ll see. But I know you weren’t the only one, because I just ran some tests, and I wasn’t getting the messages either. What’s odd is that it’s working on my other two blogs, so I’m not sure why it’s not working on its own with this blog. Always something. Thanks for testing it for me.

I don’t think I’m an ordinary person, so I’m definitely not going to do ordinary things… haha

On vacation this past week, I got to thinking about my blog and how it started as just a place for me to vent and have fun and be myself… and then I thought about how serious it has gotten at times and how that caused me to get burned out at my own blog!

I need to get back to being me… Mr Unordinary! haha

Well, let’s go for it, Jake. I like to think I’m doing something out of the ordinary, but I’m not so sure all the time. I know I don’t always write about the same stuff everyone else does, but I also haven’t broken away from the pack, which tells me that, in most eyes, I’m still ordinary.

Because you hang out with certain people – that makes you Unordinary. I won’t mention names. *whispers* it might hurt Sire’s feelings.

I agree that many people just do the same thing everyone else does – over & over & over. I’d name those people but, I don’t remember who they are.

I wrote a post on the forum the other day that – Not everyone will like you & that is OK. To build trust & authority you must be a real person with your own style.

Now keep perking it up & have a bit of fun. Show the side that others won’t. Maybe dye your hair pink & where sequined pants?!

Make sure your wife knows how to post pics here – just in case you ever do decide to wear the hot pants. She will want the support of her peers before she goes to court for wacking you with a frying pan & placing you in the asylum.
