Whoever coordinated the music with Obama saying “Our time for change has come” did an excellent job! Aside from that, I am sorry to see President Obama inherit such a mess–a mess he didn’t create. But I am reminded of a scripture that says something to the effect: when we are weak–that is when God is strong and can work through us.

On another note: Selling anything connected to the newly elected President will get you rich quick. One vendor I met in DC sold 3000 Obama shirts at $10 a piece in about 48 hours.

Hi Ajith; thanks for your good comment here. However, I do have to correct you on President Obama and the oath of office. He didn’t mess that up; turns out the Chief Justice tried to do it from memory, but he didn’t get it right. President Obama knew he messed it up, so he gave the Chief Justice a chance to fix it, which he really didn’t, so President Obama went ahead and said it like the Chief Justice had said it. No, that was a man cool under pressure. He’ll be a good president, but he’s not going to be soft, and he’s going to make some hard choices that many people aren’t going to like. But he won’t be a bully, and he will listen to his advisors, and they won’t lie to him; this time, it’s going to work out just fine.

The change has definitely come to America. It’s also a great gift to generations of migrants whom he represent who could not have dreamt of such a good thing happening to them. I am glad.

Despite his inspirational speeches, I strongly believe that it’s about time to put an end to hypes and media generated drama to allow him execute his plans (He was already feeling the pressure during oath taking though tried his best to maintain composure).

He’s getting power at a time when the world economy is looking down the long empty tunnel. Probably, cutting down war expenses in the middle east and rest of asia is something that he should be doing right away. These were the actions that actually pumped up credit and taxation issues…and Bush Sr and Jr together has managed to screw up America. For a change, even defence weapon and crafts trading is not bringing in money and hence say NO to war (but not terrorism) is the way forward.

As an Asian, who has stayed in the US and have friends and family members as migrants there, I am looking forward to a better America in the next four years.

The problem is that Obama couldn’t overcome the worry and dismay over the banking problems. That, plus Congress hasn’t approved his choice as secretary of the treasury, and, though they loved it initially, finding out that he didn’t take care of business at home and withhold taxes for his own house cleaner didn’t help him much, though they’re still going to confirm him.
