I absolutely love the Fitbit and its line of products. I own the Fitbit Flex, which is why it's the first product I'm highlighting here.
Basically, fitness trackers are bluetooth enabled pedometers that one syncs with either their smartphones or via USB with the main Fitbit site to track steps or sleep, depending on which setting you're in at the time. It gives not only information on those two things but will calculate how many calories you've burned, how many miles you've walked, the intensity of the steps (called "active minutes", and a host of other things if you want it to. Other models like the Charge and Surge track many more things, and the Surge also gives you time.
Below is a sampling of the products on the market today. Except for the book, all of the products are available on Buy.com, which is where the links will be sending you. If you're interested in learning more about the Fitbit, it's tracking capabilities and why I love it so much, please feel free to check out the link to my blog post on it.
